For our Credit Control department, we are looking for a Credit Controller Germany

In this role, you will be responsible for the written and telephone dunning of debtors on behalf of Edelman BV and Edelman Direct Import with the end goal of keeping outstanding debtor balances as low as possible, ensuring transparency in the debtor inventory and reducing write-offs. You also assess customers for creditworthiness and approve sales orders before they are accepted. You ensure adequate credit insurance coverage and liaise with sales, agents and collection agencies. In this position, you will work with 3 colleagues and report to the Manager Credit Control.

What will you be doing?

  • Credit monitoring; you will be responsible for reducing credit risks (write-offs on debtors) and lowering the average payment period of the German customers’ debtors
  • Credit information; you will be responsible for monitoring the creditworthiness of customer relationships and liaising with the credit insurer
  • Debt collection; you will be responsible for dunning debtors, engaging debt collection agencies, registering debtor complaints, following up on payment disputes and handling moratoriums and bankruptcies for client relationships in your own area. For this, you use Onguard software
  • Debt monitoring; you generate monthly analyses of the backlog list showing outstanding receivables and communicate this to the relevant account managers

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree-level working and thinking and preferably an education in financial or commercial direction
  • Several years of relevant work experience in receivables management, preferably within an international trading company
  • Good command of German and Dutch. Preferably also of English
  • Experience with Onguard, Microsoft Dynamics AX and Excel is an advantage
  • A real team player who is goal- and result-oriented
  • Available for at least 32 hours per week, 40 hours is a plus
